SteelSuDS is a highly durable porous asphalt. It possesses outstanding drainage characteristics, exceptional resistance to surface scuffing and excellent noise-reduction properties
The local authority approached SteelPhalt for a porous asphalt solution, originally specifying a natural aggregate asphalt.
SteelPhalt offered its 10mm SteelSuDS product because its porous and high fatigue-resistant properties made it ideal for rain to drain through to care for the roots of the trees.
55 tonnes of SteelSuDS were laid in 2024, and the material is performing as expected.
